The Seed Laser Diode Driver Version 2 (SLDD-V2) module is an efficient module for the TE cooled laser applications with the butterfly laser diode mount such as the short pulse laser drivers, high power pump LD drivers, SOA drivers or SLED Broadband source drivers.

The SLDD-V2 module outputs very short pulse and various shape of laser pulse by superimposing the four individual pulses generated in the built-in high speed FPGA processor. This module also can output up to 3.7A peak current of pulse and 1A bias current. By using the LD temperature monitoring and TE cooler function of this module, the temperature LD can be controlled very stably.

When operated as a pulsed seed laser driver, the SLDD-V2 outputs the trigger signal which is synchronized with the output pulse. This module also can be controlled as a kind of function generator which can generate two kinds of waveforms like sinusoidal or triangular wave. The frequency of the waveform can be set up to 5MHz, and its offset voltage can be adjusted in the full supply voltage range.

This module can be controlled and monitored through the Graphic User Interface (GUI) on a remote PC which is connected via a USB2.0. This module can also be controlled by using the rotary knob on the board. By using the GUI and knob, users can control the pulse width, repetition rate, current, pulse shape and thresholds.
